That's why we fully support children who'd like to explore their dance styles first before committing to whatever decision they are going to make. What is the minimum age for enrolling a child in your dance classes?Our youngest dancers are part of the Busy Little Bee program. Starting from 2 years, with a little help from their favourite grown up. Children then progress to their own classes from ages 3-4 and 4-6. Each little dancer feels ready at different times to dance on their own and we will support them during this transition.

What levels of dance experience are your classes suitable for?Our bundles are designed with age and experience in mind. Beginners are supported with milestones to achieve in each level, with more experienced dancers challenged as well within our program. When completing your registration, please let us know your dancer/s experience and age and will ensure they are in a comfortable bundle, with similar peers. Levels are identified by a coloured wristband placed on your child’s wrist and changes as they progress through the levels.

Do you have any programs specifically designed for beginners or first-time dancers?Absolutely! We are so excited to welcome new faces to the HIVE. When completing your registration, please let us know your dancer/s experience and age and will ensure they are in a comfortable bundle, with similar peers.

Is there a trial period for new students to see if they enjoy the classes?For sure! We offer a FREE CLASS PASS for your child to access all bundles for FREE. This 7-day unlimited class pass is the perfect start for your kid to explore the world of dance.

Is it safe for my child to participate in dance classes?Dance, like all physical activity, comes with risk; however we have experienced and qualified coaches in all levels, who are first-aid trained. We also modify movements for all students where needed to ensure they feel comfortable at all times.

Do I need to purchase a specific uniform for classes?We want our dancers to feel comfortable in their classes. Your dancer/s are welcome to wear their own preferred activewear, where possible, tightly fitted. This ensures safe dance practices. We do have Hive Shirts available for purchase for $PRICE for dancers who wish to wear to class.

Are there additional costs for exams, concerts, or other events?Dancers who wish to extend their training are welcome to participate in exams or solo cocahing. These are an optional extension and price starts from $PRICE. For The Dance Hive, our big event of the year coming up is SWARM 2024 in mid-January. We encourage all Hive dancers, from across QLD to participate. SWARM content is covered in your regular bundles, and costume prices are kept as reasonable as possible, with families in mind.

What are the session durations for classes at The Dance Hive?Bundles start from 30 mins to 2 hours, depending on the age.

Is there a safe travel service available for busy parents?Absolutely! We have walking pickup available as well as personalised school pickup. If you require this, please let us know on your registration. Be sure to include what school your dancer/s attending, school finish time and their year level at school.

How can I stay updated on my child’s progress and class schedules?All our class bundles are divided into colours, and as they achieve foundational technique, they expand their learning in the next colour.

Do you host any special events or workshops for students throughout the year?Yes! We have a wonderful community with new skills and activities to share. Keep an eye out for our next event for The Hive!

How can I address any dietary or medical concerns my child may have with the staff?Please let us know any distract or medical concerns to our staff via your registration. If new conditions develop, please let us know via email and how we can best support your dancer.

What if my child has special needs or requires accommodations?Please let us know how we best support your dancer, and if accommodations need to be made. We are proud to be an inclusive place of learning for all dancers.

How can I get involved in my child's dance journey or volunteer with The Dance Hive?We love to hear of parents, guardians and friends of the Hive wishing to volunteer their time. Keep an eye out for your emails, especially as we head towards preparation for SWARM 2024.
